A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 11/09/17 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Licensing Inspector arrived at 8:45am and departed at 11:00am to conduct a Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection. At the time of the tour there were 46 children in care with 10 staff present. Children were observed in classrooms playing with toys and reading books, and on the "thinking carpet." A sample size of 5 children and 3 staff records were reviewed in addition to 3 medications. The center does not currently have any children with food allergies. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-D Description: Based on a record review the vendor failed to ensure all required facility specific topics were included in orientation for staff. Evidence: The vendor's orientation did not include facility specific training on shaken baby syndrome. Plan of Correction: The director has talked to staff about shaken baby syndrome already and will put in writing specific training in this area.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-A Description: Based on a record review the vendor failed to ensure all required information was included in the center's emergency preparedness plan. Evidence: The emergency plan did not include procedures for a lockdown or reunification plans for evacuations, shelter-in-place and lockdown procedures. Plan of Correction: The director has started creating this policy, however it its not complete yet. The director will complete these plans and add it to the center's procedures and train staff.
