Attendance documentation was discussed.
An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 11/09/2017 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm. There were 30 children in care, ages three - twelve years, in care with seven staff. Children were observed during afternoon program time which included afternoon snack. Arrival from public school was also reviewed. Records were reviewed for ten children and seven staff. Administrative staff report that no medication is being administered and there are no children in care with diagnosed food allergies. A renewal inspection was also conducted as this program is a licensed child day center.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E-2 Description: Based on record review and interview, the vendor failed to ensure that staff obtain current certification in first aid within 30 days of employment. Evidence: 1. Staff 1 does not have current first aid certification. Staff 1 has a hire date of 6/5/2017. 2. Administrative staff confirmed that staff 1 did not have current first aid. Plan of Correction: Staff 1 will obtain current first aid within two weeks.
