Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-D-4 Description: Based on record review and staff statements, a child having a prescribed emergency medication was not always in the care of a staff member who has received medication administration training to administer the prescribed medication. Evidence: 1. Child 1 has an emergency prescription medication that can only be administered by a staff who has passed a medication administration training that is specific to the medication. 2. Staff 4 is the only person on staff who currently has received the required medication administration training to administer the emergency medication. 3. Staff 4 was not present today during the inspection, and staff statements confirmed that Staff 4 has been on extended leave and will not be returning to the center for at least another 7 days. 4. Attendance for Child 1 shows the child was in attendance on 11/06/2017 when there were no staff present who were trained to administer the emergency medication. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
