The record review sample consisted of 8 children's records and 5 staff records. Five medications were reviewed. Children were observed eating snack, working on homework, playing board games and large group games. The results of the inspection were reviewed and verified with the center director. Please contact the licensing inspector with any questions (757) 404-0568.

Violations:
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E
Description: Based on record review, the vendor did not ensure all staff providing care to children shall have within 30 days of the date of employment. Evidence: During the inspection on November 20, 2017, two out of five records (staff #3 and #4) reviewed did not include documentation of obtaining CPR and first aid training. The center director confirmed staff #3 and #4 have been employed for more than 30 days.

Plan of Correction: Newport News PR&T maintains CPR & first aid certifications of all full time staff. Administration will continue to work towards certifications of all other staff.
