Discussed current and upcoming changes in background check regulations. Discussed a prior increase in license capacity that has been misprinted on the license.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-12:00pm. At the time of inspection, 162 children (two years through four years) were directly supervised by 26 staff and ratios were in compliance. The sample size consisted of 5 children records and 5 staff records. Children were observed during snack time (goldfish and oranges), engaged in group singing of holiday songs, taste testing a variety of salad greens and dressing, participating in Spanish class with sock puppets, and outdoor play time. Handwashing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-A Description: Based on review of five children's records, the center did not obtain documentation of immunizations for a child prior to the child's first attendance. Evidence: Child #1 was in attendance at the center without documentation of immunizations. Plan of Correction: An email will be sent to the parents to request the form.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A Description: Based on review of four medications, the center did not have written authorization to administer one medication to a child in care. Evidence: Child #1 had two prescription medications, one medication did not have an authorization form completed. Plan of Correction: An email will be sent to the parents to request the form.
