Technical Assistance:
Posting of the snack menu was discussed with the program director. Standard 22VAC 40-185-560.F.5 requires that the menu for the current week is posted in a location conspicuous to parents or given to parents. The type of juice being served (apple, grape, etc.) should be indicted on the menu.

Comments:
An unannounced, mandated monitoring inspection was conducted today. The inspector arrived at 9:30 AM and departed at 11:30 AM. Sixty-three children were in care with ten staff. Morning arrival and activities were observed. A sample size of five staff records and five children's records were reviewed. No children's injuries were reported for this school year. No medication has been administered to the children this school year. An exit meeting was conducted with the program director prior to closure of the inspection.

Description: Based upon observation, the facility has not ensured that equipment is maintained to be safe. Evidence: The plastic at the bottom of the tan rock wall steps on the the large climbing structure on the playground has cracked and broken off, leaving sharp edges that could pinch or scratch a child.

Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following: We will research options to repair or replace the tan rock wall steps to keep the children safe.
