Medications.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted between 2:20pm through 4:00pm. There were 57 children in direct care of 5 staff members. Children were observed arriving into the program, doing handwashing and eating snack. Children were also observed reading books. Staff to child interactions were positive. Staff / children records were reviewed. Emergency drill records were maintained. Areas of non-compliance are listed in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C
Description: Based on record review and observation, center did not follow procedures for administering medication Evidence: 1. Child # 1's emergency allergy medication expired in 11/2017. 2. Child # 2's instant glucose medication expired in 9/2016. 3. Both medications were found in the center's medication box.

Plan of Correction: The parents will be notified and the medications were removed from the box during the inspection
