A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 12/08/17 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Licensing Inspector arrived at 11:30am and departed at 1:30pm to conduct a Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection. At the time of the tour there were 72 children in care with 21 staff present. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-006-B-11 Description: Based on a record review and interview with the program director the vendor failed to ensure a written allergy care plan was kept for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic to and steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. Evidence: There were 6 children in care (child #8-13) that had a diagnosed food allergy that did not have written allergy plans. Plan of Correction: The director has asked the parents for the plans and they were not provided. The director will contact each parent and discuss the importance of having an allergy plan.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-A Description: Based on a record review the vendor failed to ensure all required components were included in the center's written emergency preparedness plan. Evidence: The vendor's written emergency plan did not include the following: A procedure to address an intruder or reunification plans for an evacuation, shelter-in-place or intruder. Plan of Correction: The director has been working with corporate on adding these components to the center's plan. The director will contact corporate today to make finalizations to the plans and plan to train staff.
