An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on December 8, 2017 from approximately 12:10 p.m. until 1:55 p.m. Upon entrance there were 21 children in the "Kids" program and 4 staff present with children. There were no children on site for the "school age/middle school" program. The record review sample consisted of 5 children's records and 4 staff records. Children were observed playing in a large multipurpose room and preparing for and eating lunch. The results of the inspection were reviewed with the center director. Areas of non-compliance are noted on the violation notice.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-B-1 Description: Based on documentation review and vendor interviews, the vendor did not ensure there were procedures included accommodations or special requirements for children with special needs to ensure their safety during shelter-in-place;. Evidence: During the inspection on December 8, 2017 the center director verified with the licensing inspector the emergency plan did not include accommodations for special needs. Plan of Correction: The center supervisor will ensure that emergency plans include accommodations for participants with special needs.
