22VAC40-185 SPECIAL SERVICES.
An unannounced complaint inspection was conducted on December 13, 2017. The complainant reported concerns regarding special services, programs and staffing and supervision. The licensing inspector conducted an inspection of the facility, reviewed documentation and interviewed staff. There was not a preponderance of evidence to support the allegations regarding special services and programs, therefore, those portions of the complaint have been determined to be NOT VALID. There was a preponderance of evidence to support the allegation regarding staffing and supervision, therefore, that portion of the complaint has been determined to be VALID. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-1 Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on observation and inspection of the facility, the licensee did not ensure that ratios were maintained for children from birth to the age of 16 months: one staff member for every four children. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on December 13, 2017, at approximately 8:59am there was one staff member with five infants. At approximately 9:01am there was one staff member with six infants; the second staff member required for the group did not arrive until 9:03am. Plan of Correction: Program Director will post a memo to advise parents if your child will not be in attendance by 9:00am to provide us with a courtesy call to maintain ratios and supervision at all times.
