- Technical Assistance:
During the inspection, the licensing representative discussed with program administrators emergency medication training, programming materials [manipulatives], required postings and a child's prescribed topical ointment that will expire at the end of the month.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:00am - 12:00pm. At the time of entrance, 19 children were in care with 2 staff members present. Children were observed during snack time, engaged in group activities and outdoor play time. A selection of 5 children records, medications, emergency drills and other documents were reviewed. Staff records are maintained at the primary site and will be reviewed at a later date. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous materials were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking methods. Evidence: A disabled lock was observed on a lower cabinet in the program area that contained several sharp cooking utensils. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G Description: Based on observation, children's lunches brought from home were not properly labeled. Evidence: 10 out of 10 lunches were not labeled with a date as required. Plan of Correction: We will label our lunches with children's names and dates.
