Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on December 18, 2017, to review supplemental health and safety requirements.
Present today were:
2's: Playful Pandas: seven children with one staff
3's: Mighty Monkeys - seven children with one staff
4's: Busy Bees - eight children with one staff
4/5: Wise Owls: ten children with one staff
K- 2nd: Zoo Crew: twelve children with one staff
3rd-5th: Crocodile Hunters: eleven children with one staff
All classrooms were observed as well as the playground. Children were singing holiday songs, building with legos, listening to stories and using various manipulatives.
Lunch: Mozzarella sticks, greens, cooked carrots, a cookie and milk
PM Snack: Peanut Butter Pretzels and crackers with juice
A practice evacuation drill was conducted 11/20/17.
Out of thirteen staff, eleven staff are currently certified in first aid/CPR; two staff are certified in Medication Administration; two staff are certified in Daily Health Observation.
Five children's records and five staff records were inspected today. A sampling of children's medications were reviewed. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. A violation was found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection and is identified on the violation notice.

Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E
Description: Based on review of staff records, the center did not ensure all staff were certified in first aid and CPR within 30 days of the date of employment. Out of five staff records inspected, Staff #2, hired 10/9/17 and Staff #5 hired 8/14/17, do not have certification in first aid and CPR.

Plan of Correction: Per Center: Both staff members will complete an approved CPR/First Aid course by January 15, 2018.
