Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted on December 29, 2017 to determine compliance with licensing standards. The inspection was initiated at 10:30 am and concluded at 12:30 pm. The inspection was conducted with the owner/program director. The facility plans to provide before and after school care to children ages eight to twelve years. Transportation will not be provided. Measurements of the physicality were calculated to determine a capacity of fifty children. Care will be provided in three main rooms with a forth room used for music lessons. Classrooms are equipped with a variety of age appropriate materials. Children will provide their own meals. Emergency medications will be administered with proper authorization. Staff have current MAT certification. Standards related to supervision and program could not be determined as the facility is not yet fully operational. There were no children enrolled at the time of the initial inspection. The owner/ management is known to the Department and was knowledgeable of the standards. Polices and procedures are in place. The emergency preparedness plan has been reviewed by the city authorities. Coverage of CPR, first aid, daily health observation training were verified. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. Emergency numbers, evacuation maps/ procedures and daily schedules were posted. A conditional (6 month) license will be recommended. An unannounced follow-up inspection will be conducted within 60 days to determine compliance with standards not determined at the initial inspection.
