An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:45am-3:45pm. There were 111 children (infants-9yrs.) directly supervised by 32 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 9 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, listening to stories, playing freely, napping, and eating lunch. Today's lunch consisted of turkey meatballs and rice, with broccoli and oranges. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Maria Soto at email@example.com or (571) 835-5058.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, areas of the center were not maintained in a safe and operable condition. Evidence: In the Azaleas' classroom, a small area of peeling paint was observed on a wall by the children's cubbies. Peeling paint was also observed on the lower level bathroom hallway. Plan of Correction: We'll have maintenance patch and paint the walls.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-A Description: Based on observation, a child was placed in an infant feeding table and was being fed without the protective belt. Evidence: A child was observed being fed in the Rosebud's room without being fastened with a protective belt. Plan of Correction: We will rearrange sitting and order a protective belt.
