Inspector spoke with the Assistant Director about the evacuation drills during this inspection.
An unannounced monitoring inspection and facility tour was conducted from 12:40 pm-1:30 pm. At the time of inspectors' arrival there were 4 infants in care with 2 staff members. Children were observed participating in infant activities, interacting with staff, lunch, transitioning between activities, and nap. A sample of 5 children's records and 2 staff records were reviewed. Medications are not being administered at this center. Areas of noncompliance are detailed in the violation notice and were discussed with the assistant director at the conclusion of this inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-B Description: Based on record review it was determined that the center did not obtain documentation of additional immunizations once every six months for children under the age of two years. Evidence: The record for child #5(DOB 4/27/17) did not contain documentation of updated immunizations. The available immunization documentation was dated 6/13/17. Plan of Correction: The center will request updated immunization documentation from child #5's parent.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation it was determined that the center did not ensure that all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: The large cabinet in the infant room was unlocked and contained Lysol spray and Clorox wipes. Plan of Correction: The center will ensure chemicals will be locked at all times.
