Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Assistant Director. This visit took place in the afternoon between 12:30-2pm there were 8 children with 3 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed during nap time, the children made gingerbread houses and had a volunteers come read story, outdoor play, and lunch. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, first aid kit, fire drill log, and emergency procedures. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, electrical outlets were found missing protective covers. Evidence: 2 surge protectors outlets were found missing protective covers near the computer station. Plan of Correction: Assistant Director immediately replaced them during this inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-A Description: Based on observation of the children during nap time, children were observed without a top or bottom cover during nap time. Evidence: Three children were observed sleeping on a mat however they did not have a bottom cover. Plan of Correction: Assistant Director stated that she will work with all parents to make sure that two covers are brought in for all children.
