VENDSUB-000 STAFF QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

Comments:
Licensing inspector arrived at 2:30 pm and departed at 5:45 pm to conduct a licensing inspection and a Subsidy Health and Safety inspection. At the time of the tour there were five children in care with 2 staff . Additional staff arrived during the inspection. Children were observed building a tower and using computers. The sample size consisted of 5 children records and 5 staff records. Areas of non-compliance was reviewed with the director.

Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E
Description: Based on 1 of 5 records reviewed, the vendor did not ensure that all staff providing care to children shall have within 30 days of the date of employment certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the age of children in care . The training shall include an in-person competency demonstration; and Current certification in first aid. Evidence: 1. Staff #3 ( stat date 11/6/2017) did not complete CPR and First Aid training.with in 30 days of the date of employment.

Plan of Correction: The program director has scheduled staff #3 CPR and First Aide training for February. Due to inclement weather inJanuary the class was rescheduled. Staff was not able to make reschedule January training due to being ill.
