- Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included new background checks/fingerprint procedures, and use of volunteers who are not considered staff.
An unannounced renewal inspection took place today from 10 am - 12:30 pm. There were 32 children present in two classes with four regular staff. I observed children involved in self-chosen manipulative activities; coloring and cutting; and learning about unique shapes. I also watched a teacher talk to children about portrait drawing; and a visitor read a funny story to a group of children. Outdoor areas were not inspected due to weather. If you have any questions, please contact me at email@example.com
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation today, some hazardous substances were accessible in an unlocked cabinet in an unlocked room which was used for reading today. Evidence: In the unlocked room across from the classroom, an unlocked cabinet had a lighter and a book of matches on a shelf. Plan of Correction: Removed during inspection. We will have the church put a lock on the door or on the cabinet, and we will not use that room.
