A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 1/26/18 from 11:15am until 2:20pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. At the time of the tour, there were 50 children in care with 8 staff present. A sample of 5 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed. Children were observed participating in various class activities and eating lunch. Infant diapering, hand washing, medication, the emergency preparedness plan and documentation of emergency drills were reviewed. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. One violation in the are of staff qualifications and training was found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection and is identified on the violation notice.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E-1 Description: Based on record review and interview, the vendor did not ensure that all staff have current certification in CPR appropriate to the children in care within 30 days of employment. Evidence: 1. The record for staff #1 does not contain documentation of current certification in CPR. Staff #1 has a hire date of 11/13/17. 2. The center director confirmed that staff #1 has not completed certification in CPR. Plan of Correction: The vendor responded with the following: Staff #1 has now completed her practical portion of her test. We are waiting on certificate to be received.
