The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection from 9:40am - 12:15pm. There were eight children in care: three children in the infant/toddler room with one staff and five children in the preschool room with one staff. One additional staff was also present. The children were observed playing with the available toys, listening to music and during lunch. Five staff's records and five children's records were reviewed. Violations from the previous inspection were also reviewed and all had been corrected. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. If you have any questions, please contact your licensing inspector at (276) 608-3758. Thank you for your cooperation.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on record reviews, the center failed to obtain a repeat tuberculosis screening for a staff. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed five staff's records. One of five records reviewed (staff record #2) contained a tuberculosis screening that was over two years old. The screening was dated 08/03/2015. Plan of Correction: The staff will call and schedule an appointment for a tuberculosis screening. Once the results are obtained a copy will be sent to the licensing office.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observations, the center failed to have all hazardous substances stored in a locked place. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the infant/toddler room. There was a container of disinfectant wipes and spray Lysol in an unlocked wall cabinet. The containers were inaccessible to the children, but were not stored in a locked place. There was two year old in care in the infant/toddler room. Plan of Correction: A lock will be placed on the cabinet. Staff will monitor to ensure all hazardous substances are stored in a locked place.
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.
