Comments:
An unannounced Renewal inspection was conducted this date. A total of 75 children with 15 staff were present. Observation of all five classrooms was conducted. Children were observed playing freely with trains, being read to by staff in both toddler rooms. Diapering and handwashing procedures were observed. Preschool 1 classroom had small groups with a staff with each ground. They were busy completing table top playdoh activities, an art project which required gluing construction paper and using plastic links to make jewelry and pattern sequences. Preschool 2 were in circle time listening to an audio Jack and the Beanstalk book. A nice transition was observed from the carpet area, to lunch. Lunch today was meatballs, greenbeans, apples and milk. Ample amounts that allowed for second helpings if requested. The Pre-K class was busy completing a project which required coloring and gluing. Line up observed to complete handwashing prior to lunch. All topical ointments and medications were reviewed in each classroom. A total of 10 children's records and 5 staff records which included out of state central registry searches were reviewed. This inspection began at 10:40am and ended at 1:45pm. Thank you for your cooperation today.. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@dss.virginia.gov
