An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 9:45am until 12:20pm. At the time of the tour there were 73 children in care with 11 staff present. A sample of 7 children's records and 7 staff records were reviewed. Children were observed participating in morning activities, playing outside, eating lunch and transitioning to nap time. Infant feeding and tummy time were also observed. Medication, transportation, children's incident reports, first aid and emergency supplies, documentation of emergency practice drills and center postings were reviewed. One violation in the area of administration is identified on the violation notice and was discussed with the center director during the exit interview.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not ensure that at least every two years from the date of the initial screening that staff members shall obtain and submit the results of a follow-up tuberculosis screening. Evidence: 1. The most recent documented tuberculosis screening for staff #1 is dated 9/21/15. 2. The center director confirmed that the tuberculosis screening for staff #1 is expired. Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: Staff #1 will be obtaining a tuberculosis screeing tomorrow morning.
