Comments:
An unannounced subsidy Health and Safety Monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:30am until 1pm. There were 13 children, ages 20moths to 5years old in care at the time of arrival with 3 staff. The records sample of children?s records and staff records were reviewed. Children were observed in staff and self-directed activities. There are no children currently enrolled who have diagnosed food allergies. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice.

Violations:
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-B
Description: Based on record review and interview the center failed to ensure that within he first 90 days of employment or subsidy vendor approval; all staff will complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff. Evidence: 1 - The records for staff 1 and 2 do not contain documentation that Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff was completed. a. Staff 1 is an owner of the center. b. Staff 2 has a documented date of hire as 7/25/16. 4 - Staff 4 confirmed that the records of staff 1 and 2 do not contain documentation that the required training was completed. 5 - Staff 1 and 2 were observed providing direct care to children present in the center during the inspection.

Plan of Correction: Center management will ensure that documentation of all completed trainings are placed in the each staff record.

Description: Based on record review and interview the vendor failed to ensure that all staff providing care to children have within 30 days of date of employment or 90 days from subsidy vendor approval: Evidence: 1 - The records of staff 1 and 2 do not contain documentation of required first aid and CPR training. a. Staff 1 is an owner of the center b. staff 2 has a documented date of hire as 7/25/16. 2 - Both staff were observed present and providing care to children today. 3 - When asked staff 2 stated that she did not have first aid or CPR training.

Plan of Correction: Center management will ensure that all staff obtain the required training within the allotted time frames.
