An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on February 20, 2018. The director was present for the inspection. In the Infant/Toddler room there were 8 children sleeping with 2 staff supervising. In the Preschool Room there were 29 children sleeping on mats, and they were being supervised by 2 staff. Two school age children were also present with 1 staff. The children were playing with toys. Five children's files and 2 staff files were reviewed. Evacuation drills had been conducted and were documented. Inspection began: 1:20 Inspection ended: 3:30
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-B Description: Based on a review of 2 staff records, the center did not have criminal history record checks on file before 30 days of employment at the facility ends. Evidence: Staff # 1, who was hired 10/13/17, did not have a criminal history record on file. Staff # 2, who was hired 9/6/17, did not have a criminal history record on file. Plan of Correction: The criminal history records had been requested. The director will check on the status of the requests and will notify the licensing office within 10 days of the status of the clearances.
