An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated today at 12:30pm. The physical plant, 5 staff files, 5 children's files, annual fire inspection, staff training, child nutrition, children's activities, medications, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected today. There were 38 children under the supervision of 7 staff. During the inspection, children were observed reading books, resting during naptime and listened to a parent volunteer read a book. For lunch, the children were served turkey and cheese sub, cucumber with ranch dressing, bananas and milk. The interactions between the children and staff were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. There are currently 2 staff certified in MAT (medication administration training). Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observations, there was a hazardous substance which was not kept in a locked place, inaccessible to children in care. Evidence 1. In the upstairs bathroom, there was a cleaning solution stored in the unlocked cabinet under the sink. Plan of Correction: This will be moved. The director will send an email to the cleaning crew to not leave these supplies in areas accessible to children.
