An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. There were 38 children in care, with a total of 5 staff members and 3 co-op parents assigned to their direct supervision. Children's records, adult background checks, adult health records, staff training, emergency preparedness items, children's medications, and the physical plant were inspected today. The children were observed fingerpainting, baking snack items, playing dress up, eating snack, listening to stories, playing outside, and engaging in a large variety of hands on classroom activities. This inspection was completed between approximately 10:15am and 11:35am. Thank you for meeting with me today. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that three record were not complete. Evidence: 1. Child records #2, #4, and #5 do not include the full name and address for two emergency contacts. 2. Child record #4 does not include the mother's employment contact information. Plan of Correction: Each parent will be asked for the information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-A Description: Based on a review of staff training records, it was determined that one staff person has not completed all required components of First Day Orientation Training. Evidence: Staff B has not completed "Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect" training. Plan of Correction: She will complete the online training course this weekend.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on a review of children's medications, it was determined that two medications were expired. Evidence: One prescription medication and one non-prescription medication expired on 12/31/17. Plan of Correction: Each parent will be asked to bring a new medication.
