A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on March 5, 2018 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. At the time of inspection, 52 school age children were directly supervised by 2 staff members and ratios were not in compliance. The sample size consisted of 5 children records and certifications for 3 staff members. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, and playing board games. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in medication administration, CPR and First Aid, as well as daily health observation training. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-006-B-11 Description: Based on a review of three medications, the center did not obtain a written allergy care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy. Evidence: Child #4 has medications on site for a severe food allergy, however the record for the child did not include a written allergy care plan. Plan of Correction: Staff will ensure a written allergy care plan is on file for each child with a diagnosed food allergy.
