During the inspection, the licensing representative discussed with staff the process for requesting out of state central registry results for staff who disclose having lived outside the state of Virginia within the past five years. Licensing representative also provided technical assistance regarding outdoor play equipment that is currently not being used during the winter season. The administrator anticipates updates to be made to equipment during the early Spring prior to children playing outside. Administrator was provided contact information to OBI (804-726-7884). Inspector also reviewed information obtained for a potential new staff record.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 1:30-3:30pm. 18 children were observed in the care of 3 staff present. A total of 2 staff records and 2 children's records were reviewed, in addition to evacuation drills, medications and other documents. Children were observed during naptime and transitions to snack. Violations are noted on the inspection report. If you have any questions, please contact me at 571-835-5505 or Ivaco.Clarke@dss.virginia.gov.
