A subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. with the center director. 53 children, ages 6 months through 5 years old, were under the care and supervision of seven staff. Children were observed listening to a readaloud, playing in various centers, playing outside, and eating lunch. Lunch served today was pizza, green beans, pineapple tidbits, and milk. There were no medications to review. The last emergency escape drill was 2/16/18; the last shelter-in-place drill on 9/8/17; and last lockdown drill on 8/31/17. Five children's records and four children's records were reviewed. A licensing monitoring inspection was also conducted (see separate report). Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-B Description: Based on review of four staff records, all staff did not complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within the 90 days of employment. Evidence: Staff A's (hired 10/16/17), Staff B's (hired 9/8/16), and Staff C's (hired 10/9/17) records did not have documentation of preservice training. Plan of Correction: The staff will have until Friday, March 16, 2018 to complete this training.
