Discussed new fingerprinting procedures.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 2/26/2018 from 9:30pm until 12:15pm. Upon arrival to the facility, there were 49 children present with 12 staff members. The children were observed participating in age appropriate activities, hand washing and diapering. A sample of 5 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed. The licensing inspector toured the facility and reviewed supervision, emergency supplies, practice drills, nutrition, physical plant, required postings, and administration. Violations were cited in the areas of physical plant and special care provisions and emergencies. An exit meeting was conducted with the facility director prior to the end of the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based upon observation and interview the facility did not ensure that equipment of the center was maintained to prevent injury. 1. During the inspector's tour of the facility it was found that an camera wire that was located in the hallway of the center was hanging and drooping from the ceiling. a. The wire drooping in the hallway was in reach of children attending the facility and could have been a potential hazard to children. b. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based upon observation and interview the facility did not ensure that a nonabsorbent surface was used for diapering. Evidence: 1. During the inspector's tour of the facility it was found that the plastic covered changing pad located in the toddlers classroom was cracking on the surface causing it to be absorbent to bodily fluids. a. Children could be exposed to bodily fluids which could present a hazard. b. Children were in the toddler class during the time of the inspection. c.
