Technical Assistance:
Today we discussed entering specific, descriptive symptoms on the medication form when medication is administered "as needed".

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. At the time of entrance the following adult to child ratios were observed: Classroom A - 12 children with 1 staff (nap time) Classroom B - 11 children with 2 staff (nap time) Classroom C - 10 children with 2 staff (nap time) Classroom D - 14 children with 2 staff (nap time) Classroom E - 13 children with 2 staff (nap time) Classroom F - 11 children with 2 staff (nap time) The records sample size consisted of 10 children?s records. Staff records are housed off site and will be reviewed at a separate inspection. Children were observed resting quietly on cots at nap time, having an afternoon snack of oranges and milk, playing in centers to include home living, blocks and Legos, cars and trucks, books, writing and puzzles and leaving with parents or on the bus. Restroom procedures, hand washing, table sanitizing, and parent pick-up were observed. Medication administration and Transportation were not observed during today's inspection. However, 4 medications kept on site were reviewed with regard to storage, labeling, written authorization and required documentation. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of assistance.
