Discussed the recent communication regarding fingerprint based background checks for child day programs.
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection Tuesday, March 06, 2018 from 09:50am to 12:40pm. The children were observed playing outside, playing in center time, painting with green paint, and walking on the balance mat . The infants were observed playing on the floor with their teachers and resting. Lunch today consisted of vegetable soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, oranges and milk. The menu was posted. All classrooms were inspected today. The facility's playgrounds and mini bus were also inspected. Five children?s records and five employee records were reviewed during this inspection. The center administers medication, and it was reviewed. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 02/21/2018 Shelter-in-place drills: 02/22/2018 Last fire inspection: 08/01/2017 Last health inspection: 02/28/2017 Total enrollment today: 33 Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed: Infants ?5:2 Toddlers ?4:1 Twos ? 11:2 Preschool?7:1 Pre-K -6:1 The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. There were no repeat violations found during today?s inspection. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact your licensing inspector, Roshon Casey, at (804) 662-9760. PROVIDER: Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from today. You will need to specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Just writing the word ?corrected? is not acceptable. Your plan of correction must contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measures. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-A Description: Based on a review of children's records on 03/06/2018, the center did not ensure that one of the five records reviewed contained documentation that immunizations were obtained before the child can attend the center.
