A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on Monday, March 26, 2018 from approximately 10:00AM to 1:50PM to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The following ratios were observed with a total of 66 children present during the inspection: Infants - 12 children with 3 staff Toddlers - 14 children with 3 staff Twos - 16 children with 2 staff Threes - 14 children with 2 staff Pre-K - 10 children with 1 staff School age children were not present during the inspection. The children and staff were engaged in a variety of activities when the licensing inspector arrived. Infants were observed playing on the floor with their teachers, being held, rocked and fed, having books read and songs sang to the babies. The Toddlers were observed playing outside. The Twos were observed having their diapers changed and learning about lions during circle time. The Threes children were observed looking at books and participating in circle time. The Pre-K children were observed playing outside and eating lunch. Lunch consisted of black beans and cheese tortillas, peas and carrots, applesauce and milk. Later the children were observed resting at naptime. All areas of the facility including classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, bathrooms and playgrounds were inspected. The facility was equipped with toys and supplies and items were available to the children. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
