22VAC40-185 STAFFING AND SUPERVISION.
An unannounced focused investigation was conducted today regarding a self-reported concern between the hours of 12:00pm and 1:15pm. Based on the preponderance of evidence gathered, no violations were cited regarding the self-reported incident. During the investigation, separate violations were found. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-D Description: Based on review and observation of the center's video recordings, the ratio of 1 staff person to every 10 children was not followed. Evidence: At approximately 12:35pm on 3/22/2018, Staff #1 left the classroom on their lunch break leaving Staff #2 alone with 11 children awake at the start of nap time. Plan of Correction: Break times will be taken later to ensure proper ratio requirements.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-A Description: Based on review and observation of the center's video recording, not all children were provided with linens consisting of a top cover and bottom cover. Evidence: Child #2 was observed laying on their cot during nap time without a top or bottom linen. Plan of Correction: We will continue to send parents reminders to bring top and bottom linens.
