Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. There were 66 children in direct care and supervision of 5 staff members. 5 children and staff records were reviewed. The children were observed arriving to the after school program, reading, eating PM snack, playing games, completing homework and going t outside to play. Medications and allergy lists/plans were reviewed. Emergency drill records were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are listed in the violation notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, inside areas of the center were not maintained in an operable condition. Evidence: The cabinet door under the sink in the second school age room was broken and hung loose when an attempt was made to open it.

Plan of Correction: A work order has been placed. We will follow up and get it fixed.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C
Description: Based on observation, center had expired emergency medication on site. Evidence: The activated charcoal in the first aid kit expired on 1/2018.

Plan of Correction: We will get a new container of activated charcoal.
