An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:00am-11:30am. At the time of inspection, 40 children (infants through two years) were directly supervised by 10 staff and ratios were in compliance. The sample size consisted of 5 children records and 5 staff records. Children were observed participating in centers, having circle time, interacting positively with staff, and eating breakfast. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in medication administration, CPR and First Aid, as well as daily health observation training. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector at

Evidence: Staff # 1 (Start date 9/17), was missing documentation of a completed orientation.

Plan of Correction: Director will have completed documentation in file by end of date.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A

Description: Based on observation, potentially hazardous substances such as cleaning agents were stored in an area that was not inaccessible to children by a locking method. Evidence: In the preschool 1 classroom, 2 disinfectants and a glass cleaner were found in an unlocked diaper changing table. The locking mechanism was not working properly.

Plan of Correction: Director will contact the tech to set up an appointment for the repair.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C
