Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 03/05/2018 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Twenty-four children were in care with three staff when the inspector arrived at 7:40 AM. The inspector departed at 11:15 AM. A sample size of five staff records and five children's records were reviewed. Emergency preparedness and children's allergies were reviewed. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Description: Based upon review of five staff records, the facility has not ensured that all staff providing care to children have obtained certification in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within 30 days of employment. Evidence: 1. According to the record provided, staff 5 was hired on 10/12/2017. Documentation of first aid and CPr certification was not in the record. 2. Staff 1 verified that staff 5 began working with the children in January 2018 and had not yet obtained first ad/ CPR certification.

Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following: Certification training has been scheduled. In the future, we will ensure that all staff obtain first aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employ.
