An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:45am-11:00am. There were 23 children directly supervised by 5 staff and co-op parents. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records and co-op parent records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed singing and dancing in a large group, dressing up in costumes, playing in the pretend kitchen area and exploring at a sensory table. One class was on a field trip to a local VDOT yard. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G Description: Based on observation, not all food brought from home was clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner. Evidence: Seven out of seven inspected lunches were not labeled with a date. Four out of seven inspected lunches were not labeled with a name. Plan of Correction: We will check lunches for names and dates.
