- Technical Assistance:
During the inspection, the licensing representative discussed with administrator children's records and a child under the age of 2 years who will need updated immunizations in the coming weeks. Licensing representative also discussed staff training that can not be included in the annual training hours calculated. An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:30am-11:45am. At the time of entrance, 11 children were in care of 3 staff members present. Children were observed transitioning from snack time, to toileting and handwashing before outdoor play time. A selection of 1 staff and 3 children's records, emergency drills and supplies were reviewed. No medications were on site during the training. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place. Evidence: Disinfectant wipes were observed in an upper storage cubby in a bathroom occupied by children. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection; The wipes were moved to a locked location.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E Description: Based on a review and discussion with staff, a record of drills practiced was not maintained for one year. Evidence: 1 of 2 required shelter in place drills were not documented for the 2016-2017 program year. Plan of Correction: We will document all emergency drills.
