Today an unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted between the hours of 12:20pm and 3:00pm. There were 2 classrooms observed with a total of 24 children with 4 staff within the supervision guidelines. At the start of the inspection the children were observed eating lunch (Hawaiian meatballs, long grain rice, cooked carrots and fresh melon) family style. The children were serving themselves and pouring their own glasses of water. The children were enjoying homemade bread that they baked earlier in the morning. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C
Description: Based on record review, the center did not obtain a subsequent TB screening every two years for one staff member. Evidence: Staff #2 most recent TB screening is dated 2/5/2016.

Plan of Correction: We will ask her today to get it as soon as possible.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3
Description: Based on observation, electrical outlets did not have protective covers. Evidence: At the start of the inspection all of the children were eating lunch in the school age classroom. None of the outlets in this classroom have protective outlet covers. There were 6 uncovered outlets accessible to the children.

Plan of Correction: This was corrected during the inspection. We thought that since they are closely supervised while they are eating that we didn't need them.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N
Description: Based on record review and observation, medication was kept on site after the medication authorization had expired. Evidence: The parents short-term medication authorization for Child #2's allergy relief medication was signed on 11/7/2017. This authorization was acceptable for ten business days. The medication was not returned to the parents after the authorization had expired.

Plan of Correction: I will send it home today.
