63.2 Facilities and Programs..
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 1:50pm-2:50pm. There were 49 children directly supervised by 3 staff. The physical plant, staff training, children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Staff records and background checks are reviewed biannually and were not a part of today's inspection. Children were observed participating in outdoor play, transitioning indoors, bead work and free choice activities. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, not all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: 1. A canister of sanitizing wipes were observed in an unlocked cabinet. 2. The unlocked cabinet under the classroom sink contained spray cleaners, liquid bleach and sanitizer. 3. A chemical eraser was observed on an open shelf behind the teacher's desk. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
