A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on (04/12/2018) to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:40am-2:45pm. There were 62 children (infants-5yrs.) directly supervised by 18 staff. The physical plant, 6 staff records, 6 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, listening to stories being read to them, writing numbers, painting using watercolors and chalk, napping, being bottle fed, singing, and eating lunch. Today's lunch consisted of Turkey sausage patty, whole-grain biscuit, green beans and fresh orange slices. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E-1 Description: Based on record review and interview, two staff members did not have the required current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Evidence: The records for staff#2 (hire date: 03/08/2018), and staff#3 (hire date: 12/11/2017) did not contain documentation of current CPR. According to the subsidy vendor agreement, staff is required to have current CPR within 30 days of beginning employment. Plan of Correction: We will have them enrolled in cpr/first aid classes within the next two weeks.
