Comments:
Today an unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted between the hours of 2:30pm and 4:20pm. I observed 54 children directly supervised by 3 staff. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were observed arriving to the program, doing homework, reading, working on their research projects, learning about Australia during discussion time, participating in active group play and eating snack. Today's snack consisted of Cinnamon Elf Graham crackers and CapriSun 100% juice. Staff were actively engaged with the children and assisting them with tasks as needed. The physical plant, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. The cafeteria was found to be clean, safeguarded appropriately, and adequately supplied with equipment and supplies. Required staff training documents were on-site. Emergency preparedness supplies in order. Required documents posted. Record keeping was in compliance. Questions about this inspection may be directed to: maria.soto@dss.virginia.gov

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-D-4
Description: Based on staff interview, it was determined that staff present today do not have the medication administration training required for the administration of a specific emergency medication. Evidence: Child#1 has a written authorization for an Auvi-Q, the medication was on-site during the inspection but the MAT trained staff on-site has not obtained the required Auvi-Q training.

Plan of Correction: We will take the training through the link that will be provided by our office.
