22VAC40-191 Background Checks (22VAC40-191)
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted at the facility from 11:00am-12:30pm. Upon arrival there were 44 children in care with 8 staff present. A sample of 2 staff and 5 children's records were reviewed in addition to 4 medications. Children were observed on the playground and during lunch time. The menu was reviewed with the program director.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on a record review the center did not ensure all required information was kept for each enrolled child. Evidence: Child #2 (dob 01/05/13) (doe 09/15/16) did not have documentation of who and when the child's proof of identity was viewed. Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the director: This was an administrative oversight. The file will be corrected today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based on a record review and interview with the director, the center did not ensure all requirements were met when providing meals or snacks. Evidence: The center's menu did not follow the most recent USDA guidelines. Juice was served in the morning and in the afternoon. USDA only allows juice at one meal/snack. Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the director: The menu is provided by the main school. The director is currently in the process of going through the regulations and working with the school to comply with these new regulations>
