Discussed with Director: staff placement during rest time.
An unannounced renewal study was conducted today. All rooms are in ratio during the inspection. 5 staff and 5 children's records were reviewed. All were complete. Children were observed resting quietly, being fed, during diapering and playing a variety of games. Emergency escape drills, emergency supplies, menu and first aid supplies are all in compliance. Medications and injury reports were also reviewed. See violation notice for missing information. A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was also conducted today. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-H Description: Based upon direct observation, staff members purses were not stored locked. Evidence: One staff purse was observed hanging on a door hook. When the staff moved the purse it was moved to a closet that does not lock. Plan of Correction: Staff will be told to place purses in the locking cabinets in the room.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G Description: Based upon a review of medications, one parent authorization is not acceptable. Evidence: Child #1's medication authorization, authorizes Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to administer medication. The facility is not a FCPS school. Plan of Correction: The parent will be asked to complete a new form.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-M Description: Based upon a review of injury reports, reports do not contain all required information. Evidence: 5 of 8 reports reviewd did not contain the time the parent was notified. Plan of Correction: I will remind the staff to complete the time component of the report.
