VENDSUB-000 STAFF QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from approximately 12:04 pm to 2:10 pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Upon the licensing inspector's arrival, there were 26 children in the "Kids" program observed engaged in play with their peers and staff with 4 staff present at the outdoor playground designated areas. The licensing inspector conducted observations of the children in care participating in various activities to include interacting with peers and staff outdoors, transitioning indoors, completing handwashing and bathroom breaks, preparing to eat their lunch at the table, transitioning into nap time, staff reading a book, and napping. The children bring their own lunches from home. The program's bathrooms, outdoor playground areas, gym, and multipurpose area were inspected. The children participating in the school aged/ middle school program were not present, however, an inspection of their designated classroom area was completed. The first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. There were five children's records reviewed by the inspector. The licensing inspector reviewed all staff emergency contact and required certificate of completion. The staff records are maintained at the program's main office. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact you licensing inspector, Tiffany Harris, at (757)-403-3045.
