This page explains how to move through the dashboards and interact with the charts and tables. These tips can help you explore the data more easily.
On each report page, use the drop-down filters on the right side to select:
You can select one locality and one year at a time.
The latest available year appears in the header. This is the most recent full year of data.
Some agencies serve more than one locality. For example, Chesterfield/Colonial Heights and Alleghany/Covington are combined agencies. In these cases, the data reflects the full service area and cannot be separated by city or county.
The header provides basic information about the selected local agency. It may include:
This information helps provide context for the data shown in the report.
Charts display information using bars or lines.
To see specific values:
A small pop-up will appear with the data value.
Some reports include more than one page.
Use the arrow buttons to move forward or backward between pages.
To open the report in full screen:
Full-screen mode can make charts easier to read.
Use the zoom slider to adjust the size of the report on your screen.
To return to the main page:
You can view chart data in a table format.
To see the table view:
The table will appear below the chart and display the data used in the visual.
The public version of the LDSS Annual Profile Report is available online and does not require a login.
Some features are limited in the public version. Print and export tools are not available.
A separate version of the report is available in a private Power BI workspace managed by the VDSS Office of Research and Planning Data Warehouse team.
This private version includes print and export options.
At this time, access is available only to Department of Social Services COV users who request permission.
