How to Use the Report

This page explains how to move through the dashboards and interact with the charts and tables. These tips can help you explore the data more easily.

How to Navigate the Report

Select a Locality and Year

On each report page, use the drop-down filters on the right side to select:

  • Local agency
  • Year

You can select one locality and one year at a time.

The latest available year appears in the header. This is the most recent full year of data.

Some agencies serve more than one locality. For example, Chesterfield/Colonial Heights and Alleghany/Covington are combined agencies. In these cases, the data reflects the full service area and cannot be separated by city or county.

Understand the Header

The header provides basic information about the selected local agency. It may include:

  • Region
  • Agency size
  • Human resources policy
  • Level of technology support
  • Local agency board type

This information helps provide context for the data shown in the report.

Viewing Data in Charts

Charts display information using bars or lines.

To see specific values:

  • Move your cursor over a point on the chart.

A small pop-up will appear with the data value.
