Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed on August 20, 2019 from approximately 10:30a.m. to 1:30p.m. Two hundred and twenty-one school age children were in care and twenty-six staff were on premises. Staff and children were observed at outdoor camp locations engaged in activities to include swimming, playing games, playing in a bounce house, eating lunch, and transition to different activities. Interviews and interactions were conducted and medications were reviewed. Ten children?s records and five staff emergency contacts were reviewed. Complete staff records will be reviewed on a different date at the corporate office where they are maintained. The Director, camp medic, and Assistant Director were available for the inspection. The Administrative Assistant was present at the exit interview at which time inspection findings were reviewed. Description: Based on observation, the licensee failed to provide children all the required items in each restroom. Evidence: 1. Five restrooms, used by children, were observed. One restroom contained no toilet paper, two contained no paper towels and two contained no soap.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A
Description: Based on observation, the licensee failed to ensure that children's hands shall be washed with soap and running water before and after meals or snacks. Evidence: 1. The lunchtime process was observed in which seven tables of children were observed siting down in preparation for lunch. Several of the children at each table were observed to begin eating their lunches, brought from home, prior to washing their hands. Staff were observed instructing the children to wash their hands after children had begun to eat.
