Standard #: 22VAC40-665-650-C Description: Based on an observation and interview, the vendor did not ensure that the ratio of one staff member for every 10 children from ages twenty-four months to six years was met.
Evidence:
During the inspection, Staff #1 was observed caring for 13 children, four and five years of age. Staff #2 stated she thought the required staff to child ratio was one staff for every 15 children for the four and five year old children. The ratio required was one staff member for every 10 children from ages twenty-four months to six years present.Plan of Correction: Once learning the required staff to child ratio, an additional staff member was sent to the classroom.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-770-F Description: Based on interview, the vendor did not ensure that the emergency plans are reviewed with any volunteers who work more than six hours per week prior to volunteering and on an annual basis. Evidence: During the inspection, several Foster Grandparents were observed working in the center. Staff #2 stated the Foster Grandparents work more than six hours a week. Staff #2 stated the Foster Grandparents have not been trained on the Emergency Preparedness Plan. Plan of Correction: We will train the Foster Grandparents on the emergency preparedness plan.
