Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M Description: Based on record review and staff interviews, the vendor did not ensure that, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions is listed and shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present.
Evidence:
1. On February 23, 2022, in the Wobbler classroom, Child #1 had a allergic reaction to eggs.
Staff #1 who provided care to child #1, had a written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions from October 27, 2021. The list did not list Child #1 having an allergey to eggs.
2. Staff #2 stated a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions was updated on February 11, 2022 and child #1's name was on the list. Staff #1 confirmed she did not have a updated copy.Plan of Correction: Allergies have been updated and plcaed in every room. The MAT captain will ensure proper paperwork is in the office at all times as well as in every classroom . We have purchased allergy bands for kids with allergies to wear and place mats for kids with allergies.
